An intimate museum

This revival of the college is supported by the Association of Friends of the Royal and Military College of Thiron-Gardais, which was created to animate a museum that I wanted to be educational and appealing. Passionate about this place and its history, I have tried to gather documents and objects that tell its story. It is a living and inevitably evolving project, as I hope, with the help and advice of everyone, to expand and enrich it with testimonies from the past.” – Stéphane Bern

A historic garden

Originally a place of culture and meditation for monks in the 12th century, the garden became a study area for students of the College of Tiron in the 17th century. After the revolution, when the site became private property, the garden was replanted as a walking area for the owners. To preserve the soul of the garden of the Royal and Military College during the restoration works, no one was better suited than the famous French landscape designer Louis Benech. He replanted over 1600 species of flowers and trees while preserving the perspectives and balances of the past.

An outdoor gourmet tea salon

Come and enjoy a moment of relaxation, and take a seat in the sunshine in front of the orangery or in the shade of the orchard. Let yourself be enveloped by the tranquility of the garden while savoring delicious local products. Would you like another cup of tea or a glass of homemade lemonade?

A verdant region

Located at the crossroads of the Beauce and Normandy, just 1 hour and 30 minutes from the gates of Paris, Le Perche is a region abundant in natural and cultural riches. Formed from the merger of the counties of Mortagne-au-Perche, Nogent-le-Rotrou, and Bellême, Le Perche spans four departments: Eure-et-Loir, Orne, Loir-et-Cher, and Sarthe. It is a land of green hills where forests still abound, as if to testify to the vastness of the Sylva Pertica from the Middle Ages.
